 COMPOSITION  PROJECTS



For this discussion I will be talking about the Comp project and the match to life project. To start it off I want to discuss my Comp project. We had to download the render passes and combine them to create a better looking rendered image. I really enjoyed this project as it made me understand how many more render  passes there actually are compared to just the beauty. I also got better at photoshop. Some of the issues I found were where to get all the images to the right layers. It was not necessarily difficult but was time consuming. I added some smoke and a few effects but I liked the way it turned out!






MATCH TO LIFE



  The next one is the Match to life project. This one we had to place a toy car in the scene in maya and make it appear as a real life toy car like the ones in the photo. This one gave me some trouble. I had issues lining the car up right and it took a long time to get it right. However the thing that was really difficult was getting the renders to look right. It took me many many times to get this to work but it finally worked by me messing with the render settings explained in the videos for all the passes. Then porting over to after effects everything went smoothly and the final image looked really good! I enjoy the after effects so that part of the process went well with  me.

  To start the editing project I chose the short commercial clip “The Bully”. I chose this because I wanted to edit something that I knew I could edit well in the time span I was given to turn it in. Then after this I had to look through all the clips and decide which ones I thought would be best for my edit. This took me a while to decide because there were so many possible good ones to choose from. Then after this some of the harder decisions had to be made blocking out your version of the commercial but staying true enough to the commercial on edit stock. It was difficult for me because there are just so many possible ways the story could have been edited in my eyes. I think for me it was the most difficult part of the project and was also very time consuming. The next part of the project was the actual editing. To start I edited the video first. It was not too bad and went along actually very smoothly and I learned a thing or two about premiere pro and was on my way to editing...
